This studio is dedicated to the creation of Visionary Art. We specialize in illustration and design for television, film, and publishing. The experience we have is diverse, with backgrounds in video games, movies, as well as themed environments. Founding conceptual warrior, Sanford Kong, is always seeking unique opportunities in the world of Entertainment Design and Art.

The mission statement of Santopia Studios is to enliven the world by creating new and exciting visuals that inspire the imagination of people. All things, even the seemingly ordinary, invigorate us. Great works can start from the speed bump on the road, to the rust stain on a bike chain. The best innovations don’t always come from working inside a cubicle, but from thinking and literally being outside the box.

We view art and design as tools to create other realities. People are influenced by the plethora of entertainment media. Films, television, video games, books, and themed environments, are all vehicles to enrich our lives with awe and passion. Santopia Studios intends to be part of this new age of Creativity, which will usher us into an inspired future. We like the theme from the movie, Fields of Dreams. “If you build it, they will come.” We would continue and add, “If you can imagine it, show it, everyone will feel it, and come together for the experience.”

The freshly revamped home of SS has a cleaner and more user friendly interface. Also, there are a lot of additional gallery sections, including Advertising, Film and Storyboards. Most recently SS was involved in the visualization of Honda's Commercial for the Accord, "Difficult is Worth Doing", and "Jump", directed by Johnny Green of Knucklehead.

Sanford Kong worked as a concept illustrator on the newly released Love Guru, starring Mike Myers, Jessica Alba, Justin Timberlake. He helped the talented art department crew with prop illustrations, set renderings, and concept mattes. We hope it does well, and for once us Torontonians can see the Leafs win the Stanley Cup!

Also in the works is Paul WS Anderson's Deathrace, starring Jason Statham. This film's release date is rumored to be slated for August 2008. SS contributed in designing and illustrating several vehicles, props and rendered sets for production design. Filmed in Montreal, this one looks like a cool film.
